  1. First, I’m praying for Bubbles. His might be the only happy ending.

Second, I’m betting Gus is the one who gets fired, and Scott gets to keep his job because his bosses think he’s Pulitzer material.

McNulty might wind up in prison, and Marlo will go free. So while the bust, and everything McNulty was trying to do will end up having been in vain, at least all the heroin will be off the streets. Unless, of course, someone steals it from the evidence room….

  2. Bubbles will be a happy ending, his sister will come to his next meeting and hug him and accept him back fully. Maybe he will meet a woman and it give you hope he will have companionship.

I don’t know how they can have it all fall down on McNulty in one last show. I never thought of him getting killed till now but maybe the fat guy or someone will kill him in some twisted debate.
Maybe he’ll kill the fat guy cop.

Of course we could go on HBO on demand and watch it right now if we wanted to. Maybe I will and blog the ending to you.

  3. Marlo will be freed because of Kima dropping dime on McNulty and Freamon…

Cheese will get it (killed) by Slim Charles….

Dookie will be the new Bubbles, while Bubbles will stay drug free…

McNulty will face criminal charges, thanks to Kima…

Freamon will face criminal charges, thanks to Kima…

The Mayor will be hard pressed to clean up the “scandal” in the police force, while trying to clean egg off his face…

Templeton will be exposed, but Gus wont get any glory…

Marlo will be killed on the streets…

  4. Ah, Politics in Baltimore. To stay true to the history of our lovely City, I’m guessing that the dirt will be buried just like the characters recently eating bullets. The Mayor will keep his secrets and allow McNulty to quietly fade away basking in the glow of the great Narcotics bust. The Sun will quietly hide behind their “success” while Gus is the latest victim of downsizing and Scott gets his job at The Post.
The story line for 5 years has been superb. The truth, I have learned, is that we actually lost the battle many many years ago. The white flag flies high in Baltimore! Those who have power, win.
