Baltimore’s only billionaire

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti’s still got it. In this week’s Forbes Magazine rankings of the world’s billionaires, the Baltimore businessman came in at No. 601.

You have the recession to thank for that — the list of billionaires is also considerably shorter, going from 1,125 people last year to 793 people this year.

In other tidbits, the average net worth of $3 billion was down 23 percent in 12 months, Forbes reported. Bill Gates lost $18 billion (ouch) but regained his title as the world’s richest man, worth $40 billion.

Is this what they mean when they say the recession is affecting the wealthy, too? Because it’s not exactly tugging at my heart strings…
