The “Sick Conundrum”

I like to believe that I take pretty good care of myself.  I take a multi-vitamin every day, I eat healthy (most of the time), and I exercise whenever life affords me the time (which is like 17 days a year).  Nevertheless, it seems that every winter, without fail, I get sick in the middle ...


  1. I had no idea that number was so high. Or that presenteeism is a word. Or that we can take days off.

  2. I prefer to come into the office, tell everyone I’m sick, and shut the door. Young associates should live by the principle: “If you don’t come in Sunday, don’t come in on Monday” (pictured here: http://designarchives.aiga.org/index.html?s1=2|s2=1|eid=14019).

  3. I think the more serious issue is what to do when the entire staff at your office is sick and you do not want to catch it and bring it home to your entire family? Send them all home to pay them not to work? Let them cough all over the office?
