Merkle, a customer relationship marketing agency headquartered in Columbia, and its subsidiary, LogicLab, received Innovation Awards from the Direct Marketing Association during the DMA2010 Conference and Exhibition in October. Merkle’s Customer Engagement Monitor took top honors in the Loyalty category, while LogicLab Match Analytics won the Broadcast Media category.

Diane Tamariz, a longtime independent insurance agent in Anne Arundel County, has joined Howard W. Phillips & Co., of Washington, D.C., as an executive account manager. Tamariz previously owned and operated Diane Tamariz & Associates, a Nationwide Insurance agency in Edgewater. She now works from an office in Davidsonville.

Seven sales and leasing agents from the Columbia and Lutherville offices of Preston Partners have joined the Baltimore-Washington transaction services group of Cushman & Wakefield, the commercial real estate services firm, in a merger of the companies. Michael A. Elardo, managing senior director, industrial services, E. Hayes Merkert, senior director, Danielle K. Schline and Christopher P. Wright, directors, and Brian N. Kruger and Jonathan Casella will join C&W’s Baltimore office as associates; Jeffrey R. Pacy will work in the Bethesda office. Preston Partners will continue as a regional development company known as Preston•Scheffenacker Properties. Also joining the Baltimore team are McLane G. Fisher, senior associate, and Benjamin T. Meisels, senior director.

Residential
Rebecca Spence has been named resident services coordinator at Barclay Greenmount, a 139-unit affordable apartment community in Baltimore. The resident services program offers activities, including a GED program, to the children and adults living in the apartments as well as to residents in the immediate area. Spence has more than five years of experience as a case manager and community advocate for social services organizations in North Carolina and California.
