On the Move, 11/11: Manickam joins Chesapeake Urology Associates

Dr. Kannan Manickam has joined Chesapeake Urology Associates, of Owings Mills. A practicing urologist since 2003, Dr. Manickam treats male and female patients. His specialties include the diagnosis and management of female incontinence and pelvic prolapse, as well as laparoscopic and robotic renal surgery. Dr. Manickam works at Chesapeake Urology’s Franklin Square office in Baltimore.


Hord Coplan Macht, a full-service architecture and landscape architecture firm in Baltimore, has promoted Tom Casey, John Harris and Jeff Kreshtool to senior associate.


Dr. Thomas M. Scalea, physician-in-chief at the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, received the National Italian American Foundation’s Special Achievement Award in Science and Medicine on Oct. 23. In addition to being responsible for all clinical care and medical administration, Dr. Scalea is the Francis X. Kelly Professor of Trauma Surgery and Director of the School of Medicine’s Program in Trauma. After the earthquake in Sichuan in 2008, he took the only non-Chinese team invited by the Chinese government to provide medical care to the earthquake victims. Early this year he led Shock Trauma’s efforts after the earthquake in Haiti.


Gregg Lindner has joined Arbitron, of Columbia, in the new position of chief research officer and executive vice president, service innovation. He will help direct Arbitron’s strategies and resources in media measurement and cross platform services. Lindner previously was executive vice president of Scarborough Research, after having led the research and operations team. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Maryland.

Steve Kruskamp has been hired as an account director by Planit, of Baltimore. Kruskamp previously was an e-commerce officer at 1st Mariner Bank, where he managed the bank’s web presence and digital marketing, and developed a social media program. He also has been involved in marketing and business development for several small startups. Kruskamp has an executive MBA from Loyola University Maryland, and a bachelor’s degree from Towson University, where he is a guest lecturer.

Amber Valero has joined Nevins & Associates, a full-service marketing and public relations firm in Hunt Valley, as an account executive. Valero previously served as public relations manager for the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council in Houston. Before that, she represented authors as a publicist for an Austin-based literary PR firm.
