BWI Airport announces record October traffic

LINTHICUM — BWI Airport officials say nearly 2 million passengers used the airport in October, a record for the month.

The airport reported Monday that 1,994,905 passengers traveled through the airport in October, a 7.2 percent increase over October 2009.

BWI officials say October traffic set a monthly record for the sixth straight month with July being the busiest month in the airport’s history.

Passenger traffic has increased at the airport for 16 of the last 17 months with the only exception occurring in February when winter storms affected flight schedules nationwide.
