Fourteen businesses and a nonprofit organization in the Baltimore area were honored Tuesday at the 2010 Mayor’s Business Recognition Awards ceremony.

The annual awards program, an initiative of the Greater Baltimore Committee and the Baltimore Development Corp., recognizes companies and nonprofits for outstanding community service and civic leadership.

More than 400 GBC members and guests were expected to join Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake at the event, held at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore hotel.

Those presented with awards were: Aon Risk Solutions; Arc of Baltimore; Ayers Saint Gross; Bank of America; Floura Teeter Landscape Architects; Gross, Mendelsohn & Associates; I.W.I.F.; Legg Mason Inc.; M&T Bank; Maryland Chemical Co. Inc.; Monumental Life Insurance Co.; Respira Medical Inc.; Reznick Group; SunTrust Bank; and WBAL-TV.
