On the Move, 12/22: Peithman hired as senior VP by PNC Bank

Robert C. Peithman recently was hired by PNC Bank as a senior vice president and market trust director in PNC Wealth Management for the Greater Maryland market. He has 25 years of wealth management experience, including as the director of trust at Carolina First Bank. He has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Peithman is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve as a lieutenant colonel.


Robert W. Scrafford has been named a Rising Star by Living Classrooms Foundation for his professional and personal achievements, highlighted by his leadership in the Support Our Troops program. This program collects and ships useful items to soldiers overseas on behalf of the Society of American Military Engineers. As a Rising Star, Scrafford will participate in networking opportunities throughout the year and become an ambassador and supporter of the foundation’s education and job-training programs. He is an environmental scientist and engineer based in the Baltimore office of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. Scrafford manages projects and assists with environmental assessments and hazardous-waste site investigations. Among has a master’s degree in environmental sciences and policy from Johns Hopkins University and is a registered professional engineer in Maryland and Virginia. Living Classrooms Foundation is a Baltimore-Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit educational organization whose mission is to strengthen communities and inspire young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as “living classrooms.”

Van Eperen & Co., a woman-owned small business in Bethesda specializing in customized communications, recently received an Award of Merit for a client media relations plan by the International Association of Business Communicators-DC Metro chapter. The honor is VE & Co.’s fifth Silver Inkwell honor.


Richard C. Bittner recently was reappointed by Gov. Martin O’Malley to the Maryland Board of Physicians for a four-year term. Bittner, who maintains a general law trial practice in Glen Burnie, was first appointed to the board in 2007; he had served for 17 years on the Anne Arundel County Liquor Board, the last 12 as chairman. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.


Mark Rosica, associate creative director of gkv, in Baltimore, has been named a partner in the agency. Rosica joined gkv in 2006 and has more than 15 years of experience in advertising. He has won several national and international awards including Art Directors Club, Cannes, Caples, Clios, Communication Arts, Effie, London International, National Addys, New York Festival, O’Toole, and The One Show. Before joining gkv, Rosica held lead creative roles at two Baltimore-based advertising agencies.
