On the Move, 1/11: Plumeri named executive VP/COO of Holland Construction

Robert J. Plumeri has been selected as the new executive vice president and chief operating officer of Holland Construction, a full-service construction management company with offices in Columbia, Hanover, Pa., and Sarasota, Fla. Plumeri was previously president and chief operating officer of Richard D. Poole, LLC. He has more than 35 years of construction management experience, including with Kiewit Construction and the Hospital Building and Equipment Co.


Jennifer Line has been promoted to associate of Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects, which has offices in Baltimore and York, Pa. Line will be responsible for the architectural design and management of projects from schematic design through completion of construction. She will continue to manage the firm’s LEED certification program.


The Horizon Foundation, of Howard County, has added five members to its board of trustees: Guillermo Birmingham is director of administration at the Pan American Health Organization; Glenn Falcao is president of Falcao Investment Group; Steve Gershman is a CPA and shareholder with Katz Abosch; Lynne Hall Quinn is the marketing director of Exit 24; Marianne Ross is a senior veterinary epidemiologist with the U.S. Public Health Service. The Horizon Foundation uses strategic grants, community programs and partnerships with private and public institutions to promote and enhance community health and wellness in Howard County.

Lt. Gen. Joe N. Ballard, U.S. Army (Ret), founder, president and CEO of The Ravens Group, has been named to the board of directors of Fulton Financial Corp., effective Jan. 18. Ballard also serves on the board of directors of The Columbia Bank. The Ravens Group is a government solutions provider in Lanham whose core competencies include health care and hospitality services. Fulton Financial operates branches in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Virginia.

BioMarker Strategies, of Baltimore, has appointed three new directors: Dr. Samuel Broder is a former director of the National Cancer Institute and chief medical officer at Celera; Dr. Mark Velleca is a founder and former senior vice president of CGI Pharmaceuticals; Dr. Paul Beresford is vice president of business development at Biodesix and former vice president of translational diagnostics at Ventana Medical Systems. BioMarker Strategies is a cancer diagnostics company that is developing a biomarker testing system to improve the treatment of cancer.


Thompson Creek Window Co., of Landover, was recently named Replacement Contractor of the Year by Replacement Contractor magazine, citing the company’s dedication to customer service. Thompson Creek manufactures, sells and installs its windows.


MGH, a Baltimore integrated marketing communications agency, has added three employees: Kerry Flanagan is an account supervisor who previously worked at gkv. Guy Schmidt is an interactive project manager who previously worked as a Web facilitator at Sabre Hospitality Solutions; he has a bachelor’s degree from Frostburg State University. Erik Verleger is an art director who previously was creative/art director at Rockland Studios; he has a bachelor’s degree from Towson University.
