DC airports expecting cancellations in storm

WASHINGTON — Passengers flying from Washington area airports are being advised to check with their airlines for cancellations as a massive winter storm is disrupting travel across the nation.

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority spokeswoman Courtney Mickalonis says passengers should expect cancellations and delays and urged travelers to check with their airlines.

Flight tracking service FlightAware had logged almost 6,000 cancellations by midday Tuesday. More were expected Wednesday.
