IT outlook brightens

A majority of information technology executives expect project needs to increase over the next six months and foresee a rise in IT salaries, according to a report by Hanover-based TEKsystems Inc., a technology staffing and services company. A quarterly survey of 1,000 executives in the U.S. and Canada found 57 percent of respondents anticipate IT project needs to increase, especially those involving mobile applications, virtualization and business intelligence. Nearly 60 percent expect to boost IT staff salaries in 2011, with the highest raises going to project managers, database administrators and enterprise architects.
