Steven G. Tomczewski, executive director of environmental operation of Maryland Environmental Service, and Wheelabrator Technologies will be honored April 2 at the South Baltimore Learning Center’s 20th Anniversary Gala.
Tomczewski, a member of the nonprofit’s board, has volunteered for 18 years in the providing of functional literacy, life skills and career preparation training. He also has been an officer of the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America.
Maryland Environmental Service is an independent state agency created to protect the air, land and water.
Wheelabrator Technologies (formerly Baltimore RESCO), which converts solid waste to clean energy, has been the Learning Center’s largest corporate contributor.
