The Baltimore metropolitan area housing market showed gains in pending home sales in the first two months of 2011, according to data compiled by Rockville-based RealEstate Business Intelligence LLC, a source of real estate information in the mid-Atlantic region.
There were 2,146 signed contracts in January and February, 25.1 percent more than the same period in 2010.
However, housing prices declined to levels not seen in nearly a decade. The median sale price of a home in February fell 9.5 percent to $205,350, down from $227,000 in the corresponding 2010 period.
In April 2004, the median sale price was $193,000, according to RBI’s data.
