HAMPSTEAD — JoS. A. Bank Clothiers Inc.’s fiscal fourth-quarter net income climbed 15 percent, helped by improving revenue.
The men’s clothing company reported Wednesday that it earned $40.9 million, or $1.47 per share, compared with $35.5 million, or $1.28 per share, in the prior-year period.
Analysts polled by FactSet predicted earnings of $1.44 per share.
Revenue rose 14 percent to $318.3 million from $279.3 million, besting Wall Street’s $305.7 million.
For the year, JoS. A. Bank earned $85.8 million, or $3.08 per share. That’s up from $71.2 million, or $2.56 per share, in the previous year.
Annual revenue increased 11 percent to $858.1 million from $770.3 million.
Revenue at stores open at least a year rose 7 percent for the fiscal year. This figure is a key gauge of a retailer’s health because it excludes revenue from stores opened or closed during the year.
JoS. A. Bank, based in Hampstead, Md., has 510 stores in 42 states and the District of Columbia.
