Ravens’ Kindle pleads guilty to DWI, no jail time

ELLICOTT CITY — Baltimore Ravens rookie linebacker Sergio Kindle has pleaded guilty to drunken driving charges and avoided jail time.

Kindle pleaded guilty Tuesday in Howard County District Court to driving while intoxicated and apologized. Prosecutors recommended a 30-day sentence, but the judge sentenced him to one year in jail with all but five days suspended. He allowed the five days Kindle spent in a treatment facility to count as time served.

Kindle was pulled over in December in Savage and cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and related offenses.

His attorney, Warren Alperstein, expressed optimism that Kindle will be able to play again after the NFL lockout is over.
