Baltimore police are searching for a piece of baseball history taken from a museum at Camden Yards.
Police say a championship ring earned by longtime amateur baseball coach and Major League scout Walter Youse was stolen earlier this month from the Babe Ruth and Sports Legends museums. Youse was a scout for the Baltimore Orioles.
Police spokesman Donny Moses says detectives are tracking down fingerprints taken from the glass case from which the ring was taken.
Mike Gibbons, executive director of the Babe Ruth Birthplace Foundation, which runs the Sports Legends Museum, says investigators also are reviewing videotapes from security cameras.
Gibbons says the gold in the ring is worth between $1,000 and $2,000. But he says the historical value is much greater.
