Siri appointed to Baltimore County Bar Association’s Executive Council

Michael W. Siri, a senior associate in the litigation department of Bowie & Jensen, of Towson, has been appointed an at-large member of the Baltimore County Bar Association’s Executive Council.

Siri chairs the association’s membership committee for the bar and is past chair of the young lawyers section.

His practice focuses on commercial litigation, including construction law and estates litigation.

Siri sits on the Board of the American Subcontractors Association – Baltimore Chapter. He is the former chair of the Maryland State Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, has served on the MSBA’s Board of Governors, is a board member of the Maryland Bar Foundation, and created the One Bar | One Community Public Service Project for the MSBA.

Siri has received the Edward Shea Jr. Professionalism Award and the Alex Fee Pro Bono Award.

Education: Terrapin through and through. University of Maryland, College Park for bachelor’s in political science and criminal justice followed by a juris doctor at the University of Maryland School of Law.

Daily commute: 15 minutes.

Most recent vacation: Key West in November.

Hobbies: Currently training for Delaware Marathon in May, with an overall goal of running a marathon in the 13 original colonies. Between running, two young boys, work, and bar associations responsibilities, there is not much more time for anything else.

Interesting Reads/Favorite books: “A Farewell to Arms” by Ernest Hemingway is one of my favorites. “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell (for non-fiction), “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” (for witty humor), and “World War Z” by Max Brooks (for zombie-themed literature). The books that I cannot live without, however, would be Maryland Rules of Civil Procedure and Pleading Causes of Action in Maryland.

Most recently read: “Dead Rising — A Zombie Thriller” by Ben Tripp (for a zombie book club with co-workers and a former co-worker). Currently reading: fiction: “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein; non-fiction: “Never Eat Alone” by Keith Ferrazzi.

Favorite food: Barbecue; Thai food; (and cooked red meat from a steakhouse.
