Reports: Kansas State assistant coach Hill going to Maryland

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Several media reports indicate that Kansas State associate head basketball coach Dalonte Hill has been hired by Maryland.

Kansas State officials did not immediately return an early-morning call from The Associated Press seeking comment.

The Kansas City Star and several Kansas media report that Hill decided to return to Maryland — close to his hometown of Washington D.C. — to work for new basketball coach Mark Turgeon.

Since arriving at Kansas State in 2006, Hill has recruited some of the Wildcats biggest stars, including Michael Beasley, Wally Judge, Jamar Samuels and Rodney McGruder.

Hill was believed to be one of the nation’s highest paid assistant coaches, making $423,750 a year with the potential to make as much as $80,000 in bonuses.
