UPPER MARLBORO — A D.C. police officer charged in the death of a Temple Hills woman is now facing an additional charge of manslaughter in the death of her baby.
Richmond Phillips has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of Wynetta Wright, and manslaughter in the death of Wright’s daughter Jaylin. He was ordered held without bond in a Monday hearing in Prince George’s County District Court.
Phillips was arrested Friday after Wright’s body was lying in the Oxon Run Stream Valley Park with what police say was obvious trauma on her body. Her daughter was later found dead in a car seat in Wright’s nearby car.
Maryland court records show Phillips and Wright were in a paternity dispute.
