Maryland State Police say an inmate is back in custody one day after he escaped from the state prison complex near Hagerstown.
They say Baltimore City Police detectives and a state police fugitive team captured 36-year-old Jerome Taylor shortly after noon Tuesday in the 1000 block of Madison Ave. in Baltimore.
Police say he was arrested while walking on the street and offered no resistance.
Taylor was serving a five-year sentence at the Maryland Correctional Training Center for firearms violations and filing a false police report.
The Division of Correction says Taylor walked off from a minimum-security outdoor job early Monday afternoon.
State Police investigators say he was picked up near the prison by a female acquaintance who drove him to Baltimore.
