FREDERICK — A consultant is recommending that Frederick County outsource many of its core services to save up to $109 million a year.
The Frederick News-Post reported Thursday on the report it obtained from a county commissioner. The Board of County Commissioners was scheduled to hear a presentation from consultant PPP Associates at a public meeting Thursday afternoon.
The firm, based in Sandy Springs, Ga., recommends privatizing the county’s public works, parks and recreation and community development services, among others.
The board commissioned the $25,000 study to find ideas for shrinking county government and lowering taxes.
