Faith-based borrowing training session scheduled

A training session to help representatives of the faith-based community better understand foreclosure and financing issues is scheduled in Baltimore.

U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings, a Baltimore Democrat, is scheduled to attend the event on Tuesday. It’s a followup to meetings he has convened with lenders and financial regulators on financial issues affecting the faith-based community.

The training session will include a dialogue between faith-based institutions and lenders.

A “Borrowing Guide for Faith-Based Institutions” will be released at the training session. It’s being described as a first-of-its-kind guide to help faith-based institutions develop successful lending relationships with banks and other financial entities.

  1. I BELEIVE AS A FAITH BASED INSTITUTION THE BEST WAY TO BUILD FINANCE IS WITHIN IT’S OWN CONGREGATIONS, WE BECOME SLAVES TO THE BANKS AND OTHER FINANCIAL ENTITIES WHO CHARGE AN INTEREST AND HAVING THE ABILITY TO TAKE AWAY WHAT WE HAVE WORKED FOR, I REALIZE IN ALL THINGS YOU MUST PAY WHAT YOU BORROW BUT WE HAVE WITHIN OURSELVES AND WITH THE GRACE OF GOD THE CHANCE TO LET OUR FAITH BE OUR STRENGTH AND MEANS TO BRING TOGETHER ENOUGH FUNDS TO PURCHASE WHATEVER WE NEED. IT IS TIME THAT WE START OUR OWN BANKS AND CREDIT UNIONS JUST FROM THE GREAT CONGREGATIONS AND NUMBERS THAT WE HAVE TO BUILD,GROW AND SURVIVE THE NEED FOR FUNDS. AGAIN IT IS JUST MY THOUGHTS, BUT IN GOD WE CAN DO ALL THINGS. THIS IS WHAT OUR TRAINING SHOULD BE BASED ON.

    PEACE & BLESSINGS
