Record crowd possible for Baltimore U2 concert

The Maryland Transit Administration is warning that crowd estimates for the U2 concert in Baltimore could break records.

The crowd estimate for Wednesday’s concert at M&T Bank Stadium is now 80,000. The capacity for Ravens games is 71,000, and the stadium’s previous record capacity was set at 75,000 in 1999 for a concert festival.

The transit administration says heavy crowds are expected around the stadium as early as 5 p.m. The agency plans to run additional light rail and subway trains beginning Wednesday afternoon and until an hour after the concert ends.
