Baltimore announces new alert subscription service

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has announced a citywide email and text alert subscription service for city residents.

The service, which began on Thursday, is designed to provide important alerts for issues related to public safety and crime. The system also allows residents to sign up for Baltimore Police Department alerts by individual police districts and neighborhoods.

Rawlings-Blake describes the service as an important addition to the city’s efforts to improve communication with the city.
