ANNAPOLIS — A panel drafting Maryland’s legislative and congressional redistricting plan is holding its first public meeting.
The Governor’s Redistricting Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday in Annapolis.
The five-person committee is tasked with planning hearings to give state residents a chance to participate.
The panel will submit a plan for redistricting Maryland’s eight congressional districts that lawmakers will consider in an October special session.
The committee also will submit a plan to the governor on redistricting legislative districts for state lawmakers. That plan will be submitted to the General Assembly in January.
