James D. Thornton of Bel Air and Ronald G. Browning of Havre de Grace have been appointed to four-year terms on the Harford County Board of Education by Gov. Martin O’Malley.
Thornton is treasurer for the Baltimore Museum of Art’s board of directors and a principal with the Thornwood Real Estate Group.
He is being appointed to an at-large seat.
Browning owns a bed and breakfast in Havre de Grace.
He is also an adjunct faculty member at the Community College of Baltimore County, a newspaper columnist and chair of the Havre de Grace Historical Preservation Commission.
His appointment is to a District F seat.
