Baltimore Gas and Electric says it is preparing for more outages from storms that could bring 50 mph gusts.
The utility says it has restored power Wednesday to more than 14,000 customers who lost service during overnight storms, and about 1,100 were still without power at 2:30 p.m.
BGE says more storms are forecast Wednesday afternoon for central Maryland with the potential for lightning and wind gusts approaching 50 miles per hour. The strong winds could damage both overhead and underground power lines.
BGE serves more than 1.2 million electric customers and more than 650,000 natural gas customers in central Maryland.
