On the Move, 8/24: Forde named executive VP and COO of Adventist HealthCare

Terry Forde

Terry Forde has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of Adventist HealthCare, of Rockville, where he will oversee Maryland entities and operations. He previously was president of Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, Colo., after serving as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Porter Adventist Hospital, in Denver.


The Becker Morgan Group recently added three members to its Salisbury office: Susan C. Kotra is the new receptionist; she will provide administrative support. Shirley M. Lynch is an accounts receivable manager; she has 21 years of experience, including office management, administrative support, and accounts payable/receivables. Sarah A. Linzey is a graphic designer; she has a degree in graphic design from Salisbury University. The firm provides architectural, civil engineering, surveying, and interior design services.


Sara B. Long has been named dean of instruction at Monarch Academy Baltimore Campus, a public charter school that will open in fall 2011 to serve students citywide. It will open in fall 2011. Long previously coordinated the International Baccalaureate Organizations Primary Years Program among other responsibilities for the Baltimore City Public School System. The former elementary school teacher has received the High School Principals Association Teacher of the Year Award and the Maryland State Department of Education Outstanding Educator Award. Long has master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Baltimore.


Planit, of Baltimore, has added three staff members: Lacey Stryker and Joe Bawol are account executives. Stryker has been a marketing and events consultant with a focus on engineering communication solutions through multi-channel campaigns for her clients, and the advertising manager for John Hardy jewelry. Bawol started his career at GKV, then worked at SNS Marketing. His 10 years of experience includes healthcare and education marketing, and B2B and financial experience. Tim Dix is now the senior web developer. He spent the previous two years as a senior web developer at Merrick Towle Communications.

Residential Care

Cathy Fisher has been promoted to resident life director at Oak Crest retirement community, in Parkville. Previously, she worked in acute care and physical rehabilitation. Fisher also has experience in marketing, and home health and hospice care. She has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Maryland. Fisher is a board-certified supervisor with the Maryland Board of Social Work.
