Utility companies in the mid-Atlantic region say about 165,000 customers are still without power as a result of Hurricane Irene.
Baltimore Gas and Electric was reporting the most outages, with about 142,739 around noon Wednesday. Most of those outages were in Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties, and Baltimore City.
Pepco said about 1,720 lacked power in Washington and its Maryland suburbs. About 920 of the outages were in Prince George’s County.
The Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative says it has about 17,650 customers out.
Delmarva Power was reporting about 1,445 customers without power.
And Dominion Power says about 690 customers in northern Virginia don’t have electricity.
