Bill Cosby to campaign again for Rolley

Mayoral challenger Otis Rolley is hoping comedy legend Bill Cosby will lend some star power to his campaign in the run up to primary day.

Cosby headlined a fundraiser for Rolley in January and returns to Baltimore on Wednesday to tour the city’s neighborhoods, greet voters and lead a rally at Coppin State University.

Cosby, who portrayed Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable on NBC-TV’s “The Cosby Show,” has received attention in more recent years for his social commentary. He has said he is impressed with Rolley’s vision for the city.

Rolley is one of several Democrats challenging incumbent Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake in Tuesday’s primary election. Early voting has already begun and runs through Thursday.

  1. Seriously? Bill Cosby doesn’t live in Baltimore so why should he even campaign for someone here? He isn’t familiar with the problems this city faces. This just comes off as being a shameful way of trying to draw attention to yourself “Look, i have a famous comedian that hasn’t done much of anything lately saying I am a good person”.

  2. Look, my dad was a famous politician! (Sound familiar?)
