Baltimore County police say a man has been charged in a shooting that led to a temporary lockdown of the Social Security Administration headquarters.

Gary Stokes Jr. of Gwynn Oak was charged with attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery and other crimes. He’s being held at the Baltimore County jail.

Police say Stokes shot a Social Security employee who was on his lunch break Monday in the woods near the Woodlawn building. The victim was taken to Sinai Hospital with what police said were non-life threatening injuries.

Social Security officials put the building on lockdown after police said they were looking for an armed gunman.
