Occupy Baltimore applied for a permit for a square near the Inner Harbor last week, but the application is still under review.

Department of Recreation and Parks spokeswoman Gwendolyn Burrell Chambers said Wednesday that the group applied for a permit for 25 to 300 people to express solidarity with Occupy Wall Street, a demonstration in New York City against corporate influence. She says the application is under review.

Burrell Chambers says no end date was supplied in the application. She says groups applying for permits must include information about any food or liquor, security and how the site will be cleaned after the event.

McKeldin Square, where the group has been gathered since Oct. 4, is a designated “protest zone,” where up to 25 people can demonstrate without a permit.
