Jury selection continues in Bethesda yoga shop case

ROCKVILLE — Jury selection has resumed in a murder trial for a woman charged with killing a co-worker in a yoga clothing shop in Bethesda.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys are continuing to select a jury Tuesday in the trial of Brittany Norwood, who is accused of fatally bludgeoning Jayna Murray on the night of March 11 inside the Lululemon Athletica shop.

Jury selection began Monday. Opening statements appear unlikely to begin before Wednesday.

Prosecutors say the two women argued after closing hours after Murray found suspected stolen merchandise inside Norwood’s bag. They say Norwood tried to conceal the killing by telling police that the women had been attacked inside the shop by two masked men.

Murray’s former roommate, Ivy Huang, attended court Tuesday. She calls Murray a genuine and fun-loving person.
