Nearly 290 people helped The Daily Record to honor Maryland’s 24 “Innovators of The Year” on Oct. 26 at the Amercian Visionary Art Museum.
“The innovators we are honoring tonight, and those we have honored over the past 10 years, make a huge difference in people’s lives, in the economy, the success of our region, for our state, and sometimes well beyond,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record.
The honorees were presented their awards by Fischer-Huettner, Daily Record Executive Editor Tom Linthicum, and Joe Buchholz, enterprise sales manager of Comcast Business Class, the awards sponsor for the event
The award for the top Innovator of the Year went to Jeff Walker of Innovative Mobility Solutions LLC.
“If you believe in what you are doing, the people will take it where it needs to go,” said Walker, who was left paralyzed by a spinal cord injury. “I didn’t expect any of this when I started. [I just wanted] to create something for myself, and it ended up being something that other people could benefit from.”
