The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation of Baltimore, one of the largest private foundations in the United States, on Friday announced a $5 million commitment over five years to support scholarship needs at 10 Jewish day schools in Baltimore that together enroll more than 4,400 students in K-12 classes.
The grant followed one of $11 million over six years that was announced in 2006, bringing to $16 million the total amount that the Weinberg Foundation has provided to Jewish day schools in Baltimore over an 11-year period.
The scholarships are administered by an agency of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore.
