Maryland State Police say they’ve made progress in the investigation of the killing of a North Carolina teen who went missing while visiting Baltimore.
The 16-year-old from Monroe, N.C., went missing Dec. 28, 2010, while visiting relatives in Baltimore. In April, Conowingo Dam workers spotted her body in the Susquehanna River, an hour’s drive from the Baltimore apartment where she was last seen.
Barnes’ death was ruled a homicide, but authorities have not released the cause of her death. No one has been charged.
Police say investigators have re-interviewed family and friends, reviewed evidence and searched for and analyzed additional evidence.
