Delmarva Power to receive 38MW of Pennsylvania wind power

WASHINGTON — Pepco Holdings Inc. says its Delmarva Power subsidiary will receive 38 megawatts of wind energy from the recently finished Chestnut Flats wind farm in south central Pennsylvania.

Pepco says it has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with the owner of the wind farm to help meet Delaware’s clean energy goals, which require Delmarva Power to supply 25 percent of its energy from clean sources by 2025. Delmarva says the wind farm, featuring 19 wind turbines from the Spanish manufacturer Gamesa, is the third to come online for the utility.

The wind farm located in Logan Township, northwest of Altoona, Pa., is owned by enXco, an affiliate of Electricite de France.
