DOVER, Del. — A white Widener University professor who claimed that the black dean of the law school tried to oust him because of his conservative political views has settled a lawsuit against university.
Larry Connell had claimed that Linda Ammons illegally targeted him for removal. Connell also said Ammons had defamed him while pursuing disciplinary action against him based on complaints by two of his students.
Connell’s attorney said Wednesday that Connell has settled his claims against Widener, Ammons and the two students who lodged complaints against him.
Attorney Tom Neuberger also said Connell no longer will be working at the school.
