Saltzman honored as advocate of the year by SBA

Oren D. Saltzman, a member of Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler LLC in Baltimore, has been named the 2012 Maryland Attorney Advocate of the Year by the Baltimore district of the Small Business Administration. The award recognizes an attorney who “volunteers time and energy outside of business duties to assist small firms; advocates on behalf of small businesses; supports initiatives to promote legislation strengthening the overall health of small business, and participates in other activities to improve the economic climate for small businesses.”

Saltzman, who has 27 years’ experience as an attorney, works primarily from ARD&H’s Howard County office and concentrates his practice in business, commercial and corporate law, banking, civil litigation, estate planning and administration, bankruptcy, taxation and guardianship. A mentor to small business owners and entrepreneurs, he has presented several free seminars with the Howard County Economic Development Authority on legal-related issues for small business. Saltzman has also taken part in planning sessions sponsored by the HCEDA and the Howard County Chamber of Commerce to revise existing or propose new legislation to help small businesses.

He is board chairman for Learning Inc. and co-founder, with local business people working within the financial, real estate, accounting and consulting and resources industries, of the Serious Business Discussion Group.
