Under Armour Inc., which develops and markets athletic apparel, footwear and accessories, said Monday that it has hired Adidas executive Karl-Heinz Maurath as president of its international division.
Maurath helped establish and expand Adidas’s presence in a number of countries around the globe. He worked most recently as the senior vice president of Adidas Latin America.
Under Armour said Maurath is filling a long-vacant position and will take on his new role at the Baltimore-based company in September.
The company also announced it is hiring James Hardy Jr. as its chief supply chain officer and Fred Knowles as its senior vice president of human resources.
Hardy comes to Under Armour from Hospira Inc., a spinoff of drug manufacturer Abbott Laboratories. Knowles is a former senior vice president of enterprise human resources at Capital One Financial Corp.
“As we continue to drive our brand forward, I’m confident that we have built a talented, strong management team that is poised to deliver on our mission to make all athletes better for years to come,” Kevin Plank, Under Armour’s CEO, said in a statement.
