Snow piles up in far western Maryland

MCHENRY — A spring snowstorm is putting a wintry coat on the mountains of far western Maryland.

Maryland State Police in McHenry said Monday morning that 6 to 8 inches of snow have fallen in parts of Garrett County. They say the wintry weather isn’t causing significant traffic problems.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a total snowfall of up to 9 inches by Tuesday morning.
