G-8 media to set up in park dorms near Camp David

THURMONT — The State Department says journalists will work out of a National Park Service dormitory complex near Camp David when leaders of the Group of Eight leading industrialized nations meet at the presidential retreat near Thurmont May 18-19.

The Frederick News-Post reports that Camp Round Meadow will serve as the media center during the summit. The camp in Catoctin Mountain Park consists of four dormitories, a dining hall and a gymnasium.

The State Department says U.S. government officials will be headquartered at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg during the summit.

The agency says neither location will be used for overnight lodging.
