Md. state police investigating Wicomico councilman

SALISBURY — A Wicomico County councilman is under investigation by the Maryland State Police after his mother filed a protection against him.

Authorities began looking into Bob Culver after the order was filed Friday in Wicomico County District Court. Elena Russo, a state police spokeswoman, would not comment further because the investigation is ongoing.

Culver tells The Daily Times of Salisbury that he has not done anything wrong and is cooperating with authorities. He says the protection order was filed by his mother, Ruth Culver-Freeman. He referred to the situation as “more or less a family matter.”

Culver is an at-large member of the council.
