Ocloo honored as emerging leader

Jonelle Ocloo, supervising attorney at the Murthy Law Firm, has been selected to receive the 2012 Emerging Leader Award from the Associated Black Charities during a June 9 gala.

Associated Black Charities is a public foundation that facilitates the creation of measurably healthier and wealthier communities throughout Maryland through responsible leadership and philanthropic investment. ABC works to improve the lives of Marylanders by providing new beginnings, promoting education, job/career advancement and by closing the health and wealth gaps in our community.

In addition to her dedicated work at Murthy Law Firm, Ocloo contributes her time and efforts to her community. Her energetic support includes advising, participating, and leading a number of organizations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the University of Baltimore School of Law and Episcopal Refugee & Immigration Center Alliance legal clinics.

Ocloo is also a regionally recognized speaker on topics of immigration law. She has spoken at legal association conferences attended by lawyers in the region. She is also a guest lecturer at the University of Baltimore School of Law.
