Sheela Murthy, founder and president of the Murthy Law Firm, was nominated and confirmed as the secretary/treasurer of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. Murthy serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. This marks the second time in the history of the Chamber that a woman is on track to become chairwoman.
The Maryland Chamber of Commerce is Maryland’s leading statewide business advocacy organization. The Chamber’s 800 member companies employ more than 442,000 people in the state. The mission of the Chamber is to support its members and advance the State of Maryland as a national and global competitive leader in economic growth and private sector job creation through its effective advocacy, high level networking and timely communications.
