Jeannette M. Mills, vice president of customer operations and chief customer officer for Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. has been elected to the board of directors of the Esophageal Cancer Action Network. The mission of the Baltimore-based national nonprofit organization is to save lives by increasing awareness about the link between heartburn and cancer, promoting early detection, and supporting advances in medical research.
Mills’ husband, David, lost his battle with esophageal cancer in 2009.
Mills has worked at BGE for 23 years. As chief customer officer and vice president of customer operations, she functions as executive-level management, responsible for the overall processes, systems, and planning that support internal and external customer interfaces.
Mills earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Loyola University.
In 2009, Mills received the Black Engineer of the Year Pioneer Award. Savoy Magazine recognized her in 2008 as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America for her dedication to work and commitment to the community.
