Robert Malone has joined Volunteers of America Chesapeake as chief business development officer. Malone will be responsible for identifying and managing strategic alliances and collaborations with other nonprofit and corporate partners and leading the expansion of Volunteers of America Chesapeake into additional communities.
A Six Sigma Quality and Productivity Manager, Malone Volunteers of America Chesapeake from M&T Bank in Baltimore, where he led International Trade Operations. Prior to this role with M&T Bank, Malone led an expansion of the not-for-profit Banking Division of M&T out of Washington, D.C. and was also a relationship manager for medium and large nonprofit organizations.
He has also worked for GE Global eXchange Services, GE Financial Assurance and Chubb Group of Insurance Companies delivering bottom-line results through strategic project management.
In addition to his professional experience, Malone is a U.S. Marine and veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. He founded a mentoring program for male students in 2005 called Mentoring to Manhood Inc. and, in less than two years, more than doubled the size of that organization which services many middle and high school boys.
Malone graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Howard University and an MBA from the University of Maryland. He lives with his wife, Jualecia, and their four children in Upper Marlboro.
