Black woman to lead Baltimore Polytechnic Institute

WBAL-TV reports that Jacqueline Williams has become the first woman and the first African-American to take over the high school. Williams had been serving as interim director and was officially named to the position of director on Tuesday.

Williams is also is a graduate, former teacher and dean of students at the school. She has two daughters, one of whom is a math teacher at another Baltimore high school. Her youngest daughter is a senior at Baltimore Polytechnic.
