WASHINGTON — Thousands of residents are still struggling without power days after severe storms swept through the mid-Atlantic region.
Pepco said it has restored power to more than 90 percent of its customers in Washington and Maryland suburbs since the storms hit Friday. At 5:20 a.m. Thursday, the utility was reporting about 21,400 outages on its website. Nearly 20,000 outages were in Montgomery County.
Baltimore Gas and Electric was reporting about 54,075 outages. Baltimore County had the most outages with about 24,365, followed by Baltimore City with about 14,520, and Anne Arundel County with 7,105.
In northern Virginia, Dominion Power was reporting 11,975 outages.
Meanwhile, Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative said it about 645 outages in Charles County.
