Kenney, Markley promoted at Stevenson

Sue B. Kenney and Sharon K. Markley have been promoted at Stevenson University.

Kenney has been named vice president and chief of staff after serving as chief of staff to Stevenson President Kevin J. Manning since June 2008.

In her new role, Kenney will provide daily management support to the president on an institutional level and serve as the president’s liaison to the board and other campus offices. She will oversee and implement a broad range of high-level projects and events for the university, including the ongoing Baltimore Speakers Series.

Kenney holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Towson University and a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University.

Markley has been named assistant vice president for public affairs and strategy in the president’s office after serving as a special assistant to the president since August 2010.

In her new role, Markley will oversee campus innovation, strategic planning, external affairs and space planning design at the university. While continuing to facilitate Stevenson offices and teams using “deep dive” methodology, she will also lead strategic collaborations and support internal communications for the university.

Markley holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and also attended Maryland Institute College of Art. She is a 2011 graduate of The Leadership and serves on the executive committee of the Baltimore Collegetown Network.
